The Machine Learning Engineer will hold a key role in the development of Reveal’s web based digital assays for digital pathology. These applications are used by scientists aiming to cure disease and by anatomic pathologists to support patient diagnosis. Our applications use data to drive better quantification and decision making. The role requires close collaboration with Reveal’s data & life science teams as well as external contractors. This is a fast paced environment where you will work side-by-side with other engineers, data scientists and pathologists to build leading products with significant societal benefit. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior machine learning scientists to handle the design, architecture, development, code review, and testing of machine learning applications in digital pathology. 
  • Work closely with a diverse, interdisciplinary team to deliver value to customers
  • Manage and communicate work responsibilities within the team
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and come up with novel ways to solve them
  • Leverage scalable technologies as appropriate with an emphasis on automation & encapsulation. Use and expand existing APIs, serverless microservices and high performance computing architecture.
  • Proactively identify gaps in the technical approaches used.

Specific Qualifications Include:

  • Expertise in machine learning & deep learning. Familiarity with deep learning frameworks/libraries. Strong Python coding skills
  • Practical experience in training and deploying models
  • Proficiency in Software Development Best Practices (SCM / Unit Tests)
  • Deployed customer-facing software into a Production Environment
  • Strong moral compass

Reveal Biosciences is creating a new generation of data powered pathology to improve global healthcare. Our proprietary deep learning-based platform, ImageDx, delivers scientists and pathologists a novel class of actionable, quantitative data to accelerate research and enhance patient care.

We are seeking enthusiastic and talented lead data scientists to play key roles in the development of computer assisted decision support tools for digital pathology. This is an excellent leadership opportunity to work on challenging, interesting projects with potential for significant societal impact.

Successful candidates should enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment and will have excellent communication and creative problem solving skills. Previous experience in digital pathology, high content screening, or working with other large unstructured image data sets is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a “STEM” major (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent field plus 5 years analytics development.

  • Demonstrated deep learning expertise building novel CNN, RNN, LSTM and GANs.

  • Strong implementation experience with a variety of high-level languages and frameworks such as Python, TensorFlow, Keras, Caffe, CNTK, etc.

  • Demonstrated expertise in modeling and in the development and application of descriptive, applied, and predictive analytics on industrial datasets

  • Demonstrated expertise in large scale analytics development and deployment

  • Experienced writing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts
